Double Rainbow!

One of my co-workers had a birthday yesterday and I was the treater. I was thinking of just buying a cake but opted to bake one instead! Then I remembered that I've seen some pretty cool looking pictures of rainbow cakes and I wanted to try to make one of those! I smell something interesting! And cakey!

So I went to the store and got the goods! Funfetti is only the best cake known to man so I decided a rainbow funfetti would be freaking amazing!!!!

As per the directions I mixed up the dough in a large bowl... oh wait I don't have a large bowl, a pitcher had to do!

It was actually good that I used the pitcher, made it easy to pour into separate bowls for colorin!

And this is where it gets colorful!

Yay! That was fun I then randomly spooned the colors into some cake pans.

The green reminds me of the slime on Nickelodeon game shows! Then it was time for bakin and frosting! I was tempted to color the frosting but I thought it would be way more fun to use white frosting and make the cake cutting a surprise!

The unsuspecting cake! It was a little lopsided but who cares! You're just going to eat it! Then the moment of truth...

Tada! Successful Double layer Rainbow cake! My children are soooo getting rainbow cakes for every birthday!! This is the most fun cake I've ever eaten!

Omigosh it's so cute... and interesting I might add!

Filming places....

So, I had good intentions of posting weekly but then 12 hour days got in the way and I don't know about you but I don't feel like doing anything but laying in bed after a HOT day in the sun!

So for my first interesting thing(s) I've done....
Filming at a dairy farm!

This is Caballero Dairy at sunrise... yes sunrise, it's beautiful! What's not beautiful is waking up 2 hours earlier than sunrise to get this shot... but that comes with the job. I'm okay with that and I know these short films that we are making are really going to give people a true glimpse at life on a dairy farm. I'm so excited for these to be done!

I also got to shoot some scenes in a dairy processing plant (thank you Kroger) and a grocery store (thank you Bashas) and a house with a family (thank you Weight family)

It was a grueling 2 week schedule, I even got sick right before filming so that wasn't fun but I'm proud to say I survived and I can't believe I'm in charge of such an incredible project!

I also got to stare at cute faces like this all day!! I love cows!

Challenge! One solo interesting thing a week

So I've been thinking about this for the last few weeks and finally decided... what the heck! it might be fun! Since Jon is gone most days now, I don't really have a ton of stuff to do so I think challenging myself to do one interesting thing a week will be exciting. I'm pretty sure my current routine of watching "I survived" and "30 Rock" on Hulu is considered very uninteresting so, I can only go up from here!

I actually already have some pretty interesting things lined up this week for work! Special project!! I'll update next week on my quest to be the most interesting woman in the world!

The Un-married Life...

Well here I sit again... I will try not to be so sporadic (ie non-existent) in my postings, but who are we kidding here!?



My wonderful BF of almost 3 years has gotten a job in Payson, and I am on my second week of not seeing him daily. There were no tears shed this goodbye around but I do miss him like crazy!!!



That said, in the last 28ish hours, I have watched approximately 7 episodes of ANTM, painted my nails, ate a whole bag of salad (I'm not even mad...), got an oil change, made a pretty flower hair clip, worked out, got really envious of Winks sleeping for 20 hours and have just plain done whatever the freak I want and it has been glorious!!



I"m sure I'll be tired of it in like one more day when I run out of things to do and get bored, but for now I am just an independent woman doin my thang!
